Are the items advertised in good condition?
We are very strict about quality and we have a process to reject anything that is not in line with our selection criteria.
Items listed are all high-quality and are as close to like-new as possible, with possible signs of lightly used.  We have decided to give these items a second chance since they still have a lot of life in them. Prices are adapted accordingly. Minor flaws will always be pointed out in the item description.
Unfold Preloved will NEVER list items with holes, stains, pilling fabric, fraying and multiple missing pieces or be broken. If you come across an item in  your order with an imperfection, please get in touch with us.

How do I determine clothing size?
The actual size of an item is always mentioned in the title and body. Please keep in mind that every brand does have it’s own sizing traits.

How are shoe sizes listed?
The actual size of the shoe, as it appears on the shoe itself, is always mentioned in the title and body. 

How often are new items added?
New items are added weekly, so check back often if you don’t want to miss out; remember, every item is unique. What is available today is different from what will be available on any other day. It's all about the Thrill of the Thrift!

Can I pay with cash, debit and credit card?
Yes, you can use debit or a credit card to make a payment. We don't accept cash, sadly.

Can I use Snapscan to pay?
Yes, you also have the option of using Snapscan to pay. 

What do I do with the receipt once I have paid?
Once you have made a payment, you will be issued with a receipt of purchase. Keep it as proof of payment until you have received your purchases.

Where do you ship?
We currently ship in South Africa only.

Do you deliver to PO boxes?
We do not deliver to PO boxes.

How long will it take and how much will it cost ?
We do everything we can to make sure your order gets to you as quickly as possible. Delivery costs and times depend on your location:

In order for us to prove that delivery of an order has been completed, we do not have to prove that you personally received the goods, but rather that any person at the delivery address signed for the delivery. Please ensure an appropriate person is present to sign and receive your order.

I find shipping costs expensive, how can I reduce them?
If you live in Cape Town or have a relative living in the area, you can choose to collect your order free of charge from:

Another easy way to reduce shipping costs is to combine several orders with other moms in your area.



Can I return items?
We take great care to make sure all the items we sell are in excellent condition and we want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. If you find the clothes don’t fit or weren’t as you expected, we gladly accept returns provided:
The items are returned to us in their original condition within 3 days following delivery.
The items sold as ‘Never worn’ or 'Brand new' are returned with the tag intact and are still new, unworn and unwashed.
Please note SALE items are not refundable.

Can I get my money back?
You can choose between a refund via direct EFT or a credit note to shop with us, which is valid as soon as we receive your returned item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Sale items are not eligible for returns.



How do I sell through Unfold Preloved?

How do you decide on the items you accept?
We are very strict on quality. For your own satisfaction we systematically reject items that do not meet our criteria. Visit our Sell with us page for more info.

What happens to the items you reject?
What might not be sellable on Unfold Preloved can still be very wearable. That’s why we give you two options:  we sell them at an extreme discount in a Bargain Bin at our Pop ups, or allow us to give them to a local charity. Visit our Sell with us page for more info.

How much will I get and how do you decide on the amount?
We charge a 40% commission fee. (fee can be changed without prior notice)

Why should I sell to you when I can make more on the classifieds? 
You could probably make more money selling individual pieces on the classifieds, but most moms find it’s not worth all the extra time and effort required. It’s easy to forget how long it takes to take pictures, price items, upload pictures, create ads, answer messages and wait for buyers that never pitch up. Selling through Unfold Preloved often nets more money for much, much less work.

Our minimum pricing threshold for items listed on our website is R40. Items below that value may be bundled into outfits so to exceed this price. If this is not possible, they may be rejected for sale online.

How much will my clothes be sold for?
All prices are determined by Unfold Preloved, and may be adjusted without notification. We will always try to get the best price for you, but items may be discounted or form part of a sale to ensure they are sold within a reasonable time period. It's best to view existing items on our website to determine the likely price of your items. 

How much money will I make?
On average, our Consignors earn over R2,000 per consignment, but this depends on brand, condition, season and demand of your items.

How much will it cost me?
We accept items on a consignment basis which means payment of items occurs to you as and when items sell(total monthly). For each online item sold, we charge 40% of the selling price. If an item is included within a sale, our fee is proportionately reduced.
Drop off is free.
Drop off is in Wynberg, happy to arrange collection via our service provider courier or to meet somewhere central. Further drop off points around Cape Town are in the pipeline.
If you request your items to be returned, a courier fee will be charged which varies dependent on the volume of items to be returned.
All costs will be subtracted from your sales payment. There are no upfront costs to be paid by you.

How much can I send?
You may send as many items as you want.
If your items are being dropped off, or couriered at your arrangement (and cost), there is no restriction on size or weight.

When do I get paid?
Statements are sent on or before the 10th of each month, payments are made by the end of the month by EFT. Payment is made net of fees.

How long will my items take to sell?
In season items sell quickly and you can expect the majority of items to be sold within 90 days of listing. No guarantees though I'm afraid.  

Can I ask for my clothes back?
You may request return of your clothing at any stage 90 days after listing, at your own cost.
